Ace of Wands

This Ace represents the raw energy of inspiration, creativity, passion and confidence. This card suggests the initiation of something new and starting afresh. It indicates that now is the time to harness and direct this powerful energy. It is the gift of enthusiasm and courage to get the thing you want and make your dream come true.

Two of Pentacles

The Two of Pentacles represents the principle of balance amidst continual changes. If there are too many transformations at one time, life can become disordered and we can feel frenzied. But if there is too little change, life can stagnate leaving us feeling as if we are at a standstill and never in a state of growth. The juggler here keeps everything is in constant motion, and under his control. He is open to new opportunities yet is mindful of what new projects he is able or not able to take on at this time. He manages this by maintaining harmony and staying focused on his own well being in the midst of progressive change. He is playful, flexible and allows the natural flow of things to guide him. He trusts that the choices he makes and the actions he takes in relation to them will keep him on his higher path provided he maintains balance.

The Lemniscate

Yes, the Lemniscate. Currently, I am taking an algebra class. 38 years old and I find myself 22 years later relearning algebra. God help me... Anyway, I have learned that when writing a solution set in interval notation one will use this illustrious, geometrical and mathematical symbol to represent infinity. Instead of concentrating on solution sets and inequalities, I found myself thinking about the Tarot cards that clearly highlight this symbol -The Magician, Strength and the Two of Pentacles. Perhaps lack of focus on math is an indication as to why I didn't learn algebra as a teen? So, here I am posting about this "circle that turns round upon itself" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jeq5a8bBh8c. It represents the energy that cannot be broken or destroyed, created or manipulated. It depicts that which has no end. This symbol portrays the endless force that is forever existant, divine and that which expresses itself through our thoughts and actions.

Major Arcana speaks...

Well, once again I’ve neglected my little website…but I’m here now and I’d like to post something I thought was really insightful. I found it on this website not too long ago: http://www.globalpsychics.com/

Upon the precipice I stand, ready to step into the unknown (0 Fool). My will (I Magician) and my intuition (II High Priestess), my creativity (III Empress), and my reason (IV Emperor) are all present within me. Tradition (V Hierophant) and choice (VI Lovers) are part of me as well, as I charge triumphant (VII Chariot) with quiet and fixed determination (VIII Strength).

I contemplate (IX Hermit) the paths I have taken and the changes (X Wheel of Fortune) of my life, both the highs and the lows as I reflect on my aspirations (XI Justice), sacrifices (XII Hanged Man), and endings (XIII Death). Blending and balancing (XIV Temperance) my material nature (XV Devil), looking at my destructive or penetrating insights (XVI Tower), while maintaining my hopes (XVII Star) can be a challenge.

Self-doubts and motivations that are hidden (XVIII Moon) haunt me until I can consciously recognize and illuminate (XIX Sun) them. Great awakenings (XX Judgment) and awareness bring the true reward (XXI World). And at the end of the journey once more becoming childlike and innocent (0 Fool), I begin my journey again, back where I had started, poised at the edge of the precipice.

Six of Swords

This card is about journeys and efforts to leave life’s difficulties behind. It is about moving away from that which has caused pain, confusion, and stress in the hopes of reaching a better place. Even though this card symbolizes attempts to move to a more positive and peaceful situation, there is a melancholy feeling associated with it. Emotions are still raw and tension is still present but a tough and frustrating phase is coming to an end. By severing ourselves from our pressures for a while we allow ourselves to experience a new level of psychological clarity and balance. When we reach the other side of the shore we can see where we’ve been and where we would like to go.

The Tower

This card symbolizes powerful revelations, rapid changes and explosive occurrences. In most cases this will not be a pleasant ordeal. When we see this card, we can expect an experience that can completely alter our lives in some way or transform our perceptions of something. The tower is being destroyed, and it was destined to fall because it was never built on solid ground. It represents the destruction of certain aspirations and expectations but it does bring us the chance to avoid past mistakes and rebuild on a strong foundation. This card often shows itself when there is a drastic wake up call needed. It is the cosmos’ way of helping us deal with something we’ve been ignoring or have been too blind to see. Maybe things have gotten out of control, maybe we’ve refused to admit something to ourselves, or are imprisoned by illusions or repressed emotions. When we cannot free ourselves, sometimes an upheaval is the only thing that can thrust us into the truth and help put us back on course.

Six of Cups

This card symbolizes the warm, secure, happy feelings of childhood. It reminds us of the innocent, playful spirit and trusting open hearts of children. This is where we are inspired by the sweet memories and experiences of the past. It represents nostalgia, peace and joy. The card shows the process of sharing, the acts of giving and receiving. It is a card of goodwill and friendships, gestures of affection and exchanges of love and pleasures. This is a joyful card and is also associated with fertility and childbirth.

Eight of Wands

This card symbolizes the gift of explosive energy and the sensation of movement and expansion. Ideas, plans, goals or issues are neither grounded nor finalized but things are in progress. The appearance of this card tells us that now is the time to put things in motion. It is a time for initiative and action because obstacles will be or are being cleared from your way so that you can advance as you'd like. It is NOT a time for hastiness however. Action if it is to be effective must be well thought out. So when we see our chance, we should not hesitate because this card indicates fire's energy running aground with lots of cosmic help for a satisfactory ending. This card also signifies the receipt of important news or messages and clear and rewarding communications. In matters of romance Arthur E. Waite refers to them as the "arrows of love". Could be indicating that feeling of falling in love, infatuation or limerence. So in situations involving love, love affairs, seduction etc., this card could indicate that there is now rapid growth and proposals could be made and accepted. Regarding Wands' libidnous energy, Isabel Radow Kliegman writes "Here is a virtual explosion of vital energy...they can be specifically sexual in their symbolism...if there is a card for sexual climax, it would have to be the Eight of Wands."

The Lovers

The Lovers card depicts the blissful union of two souls; a bond established on deep love. Opposites united. The Lovers card is mainly about intoxicating emotions. The card is infused with passionate energy. It’s about desire, love, intimacy and sexuality. This card often appears when we in or are thinking about a new romance, making or wanting to make love, and having feelings of adoration for another. The Lovers is a card of choices and can indicate when we are or when we want to be in more than one affectionate relationship. Although this scene of rapture is portrayed as blessed, we are reminded that there exists the possibility of sad endings despite the best of starts. Ethical or moral choices and struggles with temptation are often indicated by this card. "Choice between something respectable, but dull, and something greatly desired, but morally improper." - Mary K. Greer

Eight of Pentacles

This card is about learning, preparation, concentration and dedication. The man in the card is hard at work, chiseling away at the task at hand, aspirations of a true craftsman. He is absorbed and focused. He’s still an apprentice so the more he keeps at it, the more he comprehends and the better he progresses. He wants to know more and do more. This card indicates at time when we are or must give our all to something, whatever it may be (a job, project, goal). It’s a time to be methodical and meticulous. But we apply ourselves in this way because we enjoy the effort and the stimulating feeling we attain from it. This type of work leads to excellent outcomes.

Page of Cups

This card is about expressing deep feelings and following where your heart leads. The Page brings you real chances for love, that sweet, dreamy courtly kind of love. It can indicate the beginning of a love affair or a young at heart flirtatious admirer coming into your life. It's about the purity of emotion and instinct. The Sun

The appearance of the Sun indicates achievement, excellence and enlightenment. It heralds great joy and energy. When the Sun appears in a reading it is a very favorable sign. The tough cycle our lives may have taken us through, any stress, confusion and sadness has passed. The powerful warm force of the sun rejuvenates us. It means that everything’s alright! Things look brighter and better things are on the horizon. We feel estatic and totally liberated. It's a time for us to shine and to be the center of attention. It's the attitude of self assurance and love; the feeling that all is right with the world. You are what and where you should be right now! The Sun indicates breakthroughs and blessings; a time of clarity and truth. When the Sun comes to shine on us, everything is clear and wonderful. There is no greater feeling than the sun; utter elation. "The Light of the unconscious brought into daily life" - Rachel Pollack

Seven of Swords

The hallmarks of this card are cunning, confidence, forethought and preparation. It indicates a time where you or another are engaged in observations, investigations and calculations. Now, sometimes this involves deception, trickery or guile. This card can indicate that you yourself are engaging in this behavior or that you could be the victim of duplicity. The man in this card could either be sneaking off after having stolen something that doesn't belong to him or stealing something back. Although he is quite pleased with himself, it is an unstable effort. He’s aloof, secretive and works alone. Sometimes this card can mean that you are running from something and letting things go because you do not want to deal with them directly ( perhaps commitment, responsibility or relationship).
