A couple of things come to mind about this card. After a little more research about the Queen of Cups I learned that traditionally she is associated with Scorpio. Well, this queen could represent a friend I spoke to yesterday. I haven’t gotten together with her in a while and when I got her call I thought to myself ok, this makes sense. She does possess many of traits below and she’s a Scorpio!
Well, during our nice long conversation, one of the topics that came up was motherhood, friends that had kids and stuff like that. I revealed that my daughter is still breastfeeding at night and in the morning (she’s a little over two now) and we talked about my feelings about being perceived as “one of those mothers”. I know some people are weirded out by that sort of thing because she’s not a baby anymore. I really just feel that if she still has a need for me to nurture her that way then I should and I will. I understand her needs, I meet them. She’s happy, I’m happy. That’s it.
I really gotta say that my husband and I went the distance with the whole breastfeeding thing and sometimes it’s not easy. But this experience has been the most beautiful and has made me a more patient and loving person. It’s funny how things turn out. Before we had our daughter I was one of those people who thought breastfeeding toddlers was just plain strange. I just didn’t get it. Well, now I do.
After giving my feelings some more thought, I realized that maybe I was a little like the Queen of Cups too.
This Queen is the embodiment of love and patience. She is all about emotion. That cup she is holding is sooo big and so is her heart. She asks us to feel and act as she does. She is pleasant and calm and knows how to be soothing. She is sweet and kind and acts with sensitivity and compassion. She is tender because she feels what others feel. She is intuitive and has psychic talent. She is open to the unconscious and may possess a keen sixth sense and or telepathy with another. She is spiritual in nature and grasps the deeper meanings of life. She feels a profound connection with God and the universe. Her intensity is powerful. She is a good wife and mother, protective of her family and is a nurturer of souls. Her reactions to the world are guided by her feelings, her heart leads the way. She is not the changeable type but understands moods and their effects.

I often think of myself as the Queen of Cups and nursed my youngest till she was almost 3. I still get teased about it though. Am truly enjoyed your blog!
Thanks Rose! Oh, sweet. I have a feeling we won't be getting her off the boob any time soon either! :)
